Code of Conduct

We strive to provide a welcoming and safe place for people of all ages to relax and feel safe. We ask that all guests limit noise between the hours of 8pm and 7am. At all other times we encourage our guests to be mindful of each other. In the interests of guest enjoyment and safety, we do not allow generators to be used at any time.

Although we are a small park, it is important our guests abide by our speed limit of 10km/hr to keep all guests and staff safe.

We do not allow loud music, noisy parties, offensive language or the excessive consumption of alcohol. A friendly verbal warning will be given in the first instance. If in the case a second complaint is received, it will result in immediate eviction with no refund, failure to leave when instructed will result in reporting to police. Management reserves the right to evict any individual or group from the park who is in contravention of this policy. Evictions will result in forfeiture of all monies paid to River Gum Tourist Park irrespective of the length of stay.

Cancellation/ Refund/ Booking Policy

Refunds of deposits and fees paid are available from River Gum Tourist Park in accordance with the cancellation conditions below. All cancellations and/or refund requests must be provided in writing.

PLEASE NOTE: Where a deposit or prepayment is to be refunded, an administration fee $10 will be charged.

Reservations will only be confirmed and honoured when a guest provides a credit card guarantee. By supplying this information, the guest agrees to pay for the room on the nights reserved regardless of whether they use the room. Should the guest not cancel the reservation 48 hours before the day of arrival, the agreed tariff for the first night will be charged to the credit card.

We have a 48-hour cancellation/amendment policy that applies to all room types and rates, including no-shows. To avoid charges, please inform the reception of any cancellations or changes to your reservation by 2:00 PM the day before your scheduled arrival or departure. If we do not receive notification by this time, you will be charged for the first night or one additional night, as per your initial booking.

If you have booked through our website, please call us to make any amendments or cancellations.

Payment Policy

Please note that we require full credit card details (Including CVC) at the time of reservation. Full payment will be required on arrival.

Refund Conditions

Providing the necessary notice has been given and you are able to receive a refund, the remaining deposit will be refunded by EFT TRANSFER – (Direct credit) – Direct into guest bank account. Guest must supply their BSB, Account No. & Account Name.

Deposit Policy & Fees

A deposit is required to secure each reservation. For all bookings a deposit of one night’s accommodation must be paid at the time of making the reservation. Reservations will not be guaranteed without a deposit. Deposit payments are to be made at the time of booking, you will receive a confirmation via email. If you do not receive a booking confirmation, please email us at admin@rivergumtouristpark.com.au

Pet Policy

We understand that your pets are important members of your family, however we ask that you follow our simple requests to allow us to continue to welcome your pets into our park.

  • Pets are not permitted inside the cabins. If pets are found inside the cabins, additional cleaning fees will be charged. It will be at Management’s discretion if assistance pets are to accompany guests inside the cabins. All guests with assistance dogs MUST supply the appropriate paperwork that shows the dog is a registered assistance dog.
  • Pet owners must accept full responsibility for any personal injury or damage that is caused by your pet while staying at the Rivergum Tourist Park.
  • Please always keep your pet on a leash unless you have an enclosure, or they are inside your van or tent.
  • Please clean up after your pet, all waste must be picked up and placed in a pet waste disposal bag and placed in the rubbish bins. Pets must not urinate on other guests’ property.
  • Pets are not permitted within the park facilities including the Amenities & Camp Kitchen area due to health and safety restrictions.
  • Pets are also not permitted to be washed within the park due to health and safety restrictions.
  • Please do not wash your pet bedding or blankets in the park washing machines or dryers.
  • Pets must not to be left unattended at any time.
  • Excessive barking or aggression will not be tolerated, you may be asked by management to leave immediately without any refund.

Pet owners who do not follow the above rules will be asked to leave the park immediately without any refund.

General Terms

River Gum Tourist Park does not accept bookings from persons under the age of 18 years of age. All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult such as a parent or guardian. We reserve the right to cancel any reservation where this condition is not met.

Breakages & Damages (Cabins)

Please report any damages or breakages of furniture or furnishings immediately to park management. Any damage caused by guests, or their visitors will be charged to the guest’s credit card. If additional cleaning is required upon departure, or the replacement of items removed from the accommodation will also be charged to the guest’s credit card. Furniture, fixtures, and fittings must not be altered or moved between cabins.

Loss of Keys (Cabins)

Loss of keys will incur a $50.00 replacement charge.

Risk Warning

Park management wishes to warn all persons who engage in any activity for recreation, enjoyment, leisure or relaxation in the park, that the pursuit of such activities involves the risk of harm or serious personal injury including death, head, eye or spinal injury, paralysis, broken limbs or strains.

Prior to undertaking any such activity, all occupants, guests or other persons should ensure and be satisfied that they are aware of all risks involved, including those risks associated with any pre-existing health condition. Such activities are varied and may include: operation of vehicles, plant and equipment; sporting and children’s activities; interaction with wildlife, trips, falls and collisions including interaction with other guests and their property; walking or running over uneven surfaces and grounds, tiled surfaces and wet areas which may result in slips, trips or falls; walking in unlit / poorly lit areas which may require a person to provide and carry a torch or other form of lighting; activities (including camping) with exposure to the natural environment (flora & fauna) including the risk of falling tree limbs. All persons who engage in recreational activities do so at their own risk. Children and infants must always be supervised by an adult. By entering the Park, it is accepted that all activities including recreational activities are not free of risk and that park management is not liable for any loss, damage or injury arising from such activities. On entry, it is also agreed that park management, owners, employees or agents are indemnified against all claims for injury, loss, damage or theft of property.

Subletting of Accommodation

Sites are provided to the booking party for the guest(s) as named on the booking. Accommodation must not be sublet or resold by the booking party for commercial gain without our prior written consent. Genuine group bookings are not affected.

Privacy

River Gum Tourist Park is committed to treating the privacy of our customers with utmost importance. We will collect, store, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with relevant legislation and our Privacy Policy (outlined below). By proceeding with your booking, you confirm that you have read and acknowledge the terms of our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy includes information about safeguards in place for your Personal Information.

Governing Law

The Agreement is governed by the laws in force in the State of Queensland, Australia.

A reference in this document is when River Gum Tourist Park handles personal information as an agent of any business that it operates or manages.

The personal information that River Gum Tourist Park collects may include an individual’s:

  • Name
  • Date of Birth and gender
  • Address
  • Driver’s license number and/or passport number and, upon our request, a copy of your driver’s license or passport
  • Email addresses
  • Telephone numbers
  • Vehicle details including registrations and vehicle make and model
  • Payment information (such as credit card, PayPal or bank details)
  • Financial and transaction details associated with bookings, products and services
  • Special needs or preferences
  • Information concerning previous interactions with River Gum Tourist Park and business partners
  • Your social media preferences
  • Any preferences you tell us about or other information that you provide

In addition, River Gum Tourist Park may collect sensitive information by consent to assist with providing services to cater to special needs.

Why we collect Personal Information

The primary use for obtaining personal information is to effectively administer records, accounts and financial transactions, to assist our internal administration and operations including accounting, risk management, record keeping, archiving, systems development and testing, and staff training, to provide for administration and operations, arrange bookings and accommodation, book tours and other services on a customer’s behalf, to improve services to meet customer preferences, provide opportunity for future sales and marketing and provide other goods, and services in connection with River Gum Tourist Park business or undertaking. Some personal information obtained is required by law such as properly identifying parties to a contract.

The information obtained provides a means for River Gum Tourist Park to contact customers, provide tourism information and assist in managing risks associated with staying at a park including responding to emergencies, responding public safety threats or where there is a serious threat to health, life or safety. Personal information also assists in understanding the demographics of existing and future customers and providing appropriate facilities to meet customer needs and to offer marketing material to customers to provide information on goods and services offered.

How we collect personal information

Generally, we collect personal information directly from you, such as when you make a booking with us or when you have other dealings with us.

We may collect and update that information over the phone, over the Internet, in person (when you visit us at our park, when you write to us or if you participate in our marketing campaigns.

We may also collect personal information through third parties such as:

  • Tour operators
  • Data washing organisations and postal service providers, including Australia Post

We may use and disclose the personal information we collect for the purpose of providing you with tailored marketing communications about our goods and services, or to conduct market research. Typically, we send these communications to your email address or mailing address.

When we disclose personal information

As River Gum Tourist Park is concerned with maintaining the privacy of personal information, such information will not be disclosed to third parties that are not directly involved or associated with River Gum Tourist Park business or undertaking unless:

  • an emergency exists where disclosure of such information will assist in the response; and
  • a law enforcement agency or person duly authorised by law requests the disclosure of such information for bona fide reasons. We may disclose your personal information where we are required or authorised by law to disclose your personal information or for any purposes connected to a fraud, crime prevention or impropriety investigation.

Direct Marketing

Personal information may be used for direct marketing purposes where, in absence of an objection, implied consent is assumed. River Gum Tourist Park will also provide options for a person to opt out of receiving marketing material.

In addition, River Gum Tourist Park may use information appropriately and lawfully sourced by a third party for direct marketing purposes if the information is not sensitive information and:

  • it is impracticable for River Gum Tourist Park to seek your consent before that particular use.
  • you have not made a request to River Gum Tourist Park not to receive direct marketing communications.
  • in each direct marketing communication with you, River Gum Tourist Park includes a prominent notice informing you how to opt out if you wish not to receive any further direct marketing communications.

We may collect information about your social media preferences and activities so that we can engage with our customers on social media sites. We may also collect certain demographic information and behavioural information from social media platforms to better serve consumers with more targeted advertising.

If we do not collect information in the ways described above, we may not be able to let you know about our products and services in the most effective way.

If you do not wish to receive direct marketing information from River Gum Tourist Park, please use the contact details below to update your preferences.

It may not be possible for us to immediately action a request to cease receiving any or all direct marketing material. However, we will respond to such requests as soon as practicable and will make all reasonable efforts to promptly activate a change in preference or opt-out of receiving future direct marketing material.

Protection of Personal Information

River Gum Tourist Park takes reasonable steps to ensure the personal information it holds is accurate and up-to-date, and is protected from misuse, interference and loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. All information stored electronically is protected by unique password and network protection with access limited to key positions held within River Gum Tourist Park. Physical records are kept in secure locations to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure. In addition, once records are no longer of use, personal particulars will be removed to de-identify any such records.

When the opportunity arises, River Gum Tourist Park will take steps to confirm or update the personal information and contact particulars to ensure currency is maintained.

Website Cookies & Digital Services

Information is also generated and collected whenever a page is accessed on our website that records information such as the time, date and specific page. We collect such information for statistical and maintenance purposes that enables us to continually evaluate our website performance. Some parts of our websites also use “cookies”. A “cookie” is a small text file that is placed on your computer’s hard drive by a web page server. Cookies store information about the use of our website and are used to identify new or previous visitors to the website and what pages have been accessed. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies, but this function can usually be disabled if you wish. Please note that if you do disable this, not all functionality on our websites will be available to you.

Openness, Access and Correction

River Gum Tourist Park will provide access to personal information held by us on you, according to our obligations under the Privacy Act. Prior to information being released, precautions will be taken to confirm the person’s identity by reference to information held and other unique information held. If your personal details change, such as your address or phone number, please contact us at admin@rivergumtouristpark.com.au to update your details.

Making a Complaint

If you wish to complain about our handling of your personal information, please send a written complaint to the Privacy Officer in the first instance by using the contact details below. We undertake to promptly acknowledge and investigate any complaint about the way we manage personal information. If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of our investigation, you may take your privacy complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
